Fisher-Titus Medical Center and Magruder Hospital are two of first all‐digital Cerner "smart" hospitals in the world after implementing a fully integrated electronic health record system and interactive technology in "smart" patient rooms. The two hospitals are investing $30 million in this project. (July 2010)

Genesis Baking Company, a division of New Horizons Acquisition Company, announced a local expansion project which will add 25 jobs, over 23,000 sq. ft. of space and a new baking line to their facility in Norwalk. Estimated investment of about $3 million dollars. (March 2010 - read the press release)

New Horizons Baking Company received $1,000,000 ODOD Targeting Industry Efficiency Grant (maximum amount). New Horizons participated in the project with over a 70% match. Governor Strickland made the formal announcement at a press release on site at NHBC February 8, 2010. This award for New Horizons’ second expansion project in 12 months. Fisher‐Titus Medical Center was named one of the Top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare in the United States by Modern Healthcare Magazine for the second consecutive year. Fisher‐Titus was the only Ohio hospital to have earned this award two years in a row. (2009-2010)

NEDC Launches New Web Site www.norwalkohio.org. For the development of the site, the organization focused on promoting the area and the resources available to both existing and new businesses. (July 2010)

NEDC is extremely happy with the web site design. "It is very user-friendly and dynamic," said Ellen Heinz, NEDC Director. "The web site was developed pro bono – what an amazing gift to the organization! The generosity and innovation of the web design firm paved the way to a fresh site that will help our organization better promote area resources and the entire community." added Heinz.
